Burger Tasting for Deliverance - Day 1

Eating burgers for a job. Sounds like something I've made up. But for the next week I'll be 'working' for Deliverance, comparing potential new burgers against their current selection.

When this advert went live, almost a month ago, it was comfortably the most forwarded page to me I'd ever received. An application and a few emails back and forth and it was confirmed. I'd got the job! Being paid in burgers, yesterday I started 'work'.

The Classic Burger
Chilli Cheese Stack - Beef, mature cheddar cheese, smoked streaky bacon, lettuce, tomato, gherkins, jalapeños, ketchup and a spicy chipotle mayonnaise

The New Burger
The New York - Beef, Emmental cheese, pastrami, lettuce, tomato, gherkins, jalapeños and ketchup

The Result

It's 1-0 to the classics after the first leg. The New York, with soft pastrami and Emmental cheese was based on their pizza, but it had more of a sandwich feel then a burger. The Chilli Cheese Stack however, despite being slightly messier then it's competitor, gave a good heat with the mayo and Jalapeños, and the bacon was a really good smoked cut, well cooked and had perfect coverage.

Have you tried one of Deliverance's burgers? I was quite impressed today and am looking forward to what they bring today. 2 burgers a day however, will I be able to eat all 10?

Check back tomorrow to see who wins today and go visit  the Deliverance Facebook page for a much cleaner layout of the weeks results.
